A Nigerian mother has taken social media by storm after sharing her extraordinary childbirth story, which many have described as both rare and remarkable.
According to her account, she was already booked for a caesarean section due to medical concerns, but went into labour before the scheduled procedure. What followed, she says, was a surprising and successful natural delivery of a 6kg baby after about 10 hours of labour.
Even more astonishing, the mother reported that she experienced no perineal tear, an outcome considered uncommon in deliveries of such high birth weight.
“My 6kg baby was successfully delivered through vaginal delivery after 10 hours of labour. I was booked for C-section the following day, but my baby arrived safely that night without any single tear,” she shared.
Medical experts note that babies weighing this much are typically delivered via surgery due to the increased risk of complications such as prolonged labour, birth injuries, or maternal trauma. However, rare cases like this continue to emerge and spark discussion around the unpredictability of childbirth.
The mother expressed gratitude and surprise at how events unfolded, stating that she never expected a natural delivery after doctors had already planned a surgical birth.
“I didn’t expect it to happen naturally… everything changed that night and my baby came safely,” she added.
The story has since generated widespread reactions online, with many users describing it as a “miracle birth” and others highlighting the importance of proper antenatal care and close medical supervision during pregnancy.
While such cases remain uncommon, health professionals continue to encourage expectant mothers to follow medical guidance to ensure the safest possible delivery outcomes for both mother and child.
