A young Nigerian leader, Onuoha Juliet, has officially declared her intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, running under the platform of the Youth Party. Her candidacy positions her as a voice for generational change, emphasizing youth inclusion, economic reform, and national development. Juliet’s announcement sets the stage for a potential showdown with incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other contenders in the upcoming race.

A “New Vision” for Nigeria

In her announcement, Juliet framed her campaign as a movement to shift Nigeria “from potential to prosperity”, putting youth energy, innovation, and integrity at the center of governance.

“I am Onuoha Juliet, and I am officially declaring my intention to run for President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2027 under the Youth Party. Our mission is simple: to move from potential to prosperity by putting the energy, innovation, and integrity of the youth at the forefront of governance,” she said.
“It’s time for a new vision. It’s time for new leadership. It’s time for us.”

Focus on Economy, Youth, and Security

Juliet described her bid as more than a personal political pursuit—it is a movement to reshape Nigeria’s future. Her agenda focuses on job creation, economic reform, women’s empowerment, support for small businesses, enhanced security, and stable electricity supply.

“Nigeria is blessed—with oil, talent, and a resilient population that refuses to give up. Yet too many of us are surviving instead of thriving. Dreams are delayed by poor leadership, corruption, insecurity, and economic struggles. It does not have to be this way,” she said.

Promises of Reform

She outlined plans for transparent governance, anti-corruption initiatives using technology, agricultural investment for food security, and policies to strengthen local production.

“We will build a Nigeria where electricity is stable, education is modern and accessible, healthcare is affordable, the Naira is respected, and hard work is rewarded,” Juliet stated.

She stressed that her campaign is not about ethnicity, religion, or party politics, but about national progress.

“This campaign is not about tribe. It is not about religion. It is not about party. It is about progress.”

Call for Collective Action

Juliet urged young people, women, entrepreneurs, and all Nigerians who feel disillusioned to unite ahead of 2027.

“2027 is not just another election year. It is our reset year. Let us rise together. Let us rebuild together. Let us restore dignity, prosperity, and pride. The Nigeria we dream of is possible. The Nigeria we deserve is achievable. The Nigeria we will build starts now.”

Her declaration marks a bold entry into the presidential race, signaling a push for youth-led transformation in Nigeria’s political landscape.
