Victor Osimhen has been left out of Galatasaray’s squad for Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig clash against Konyaspor as a precaution.
The Istanbul club confirmed the decision on their official X account, explaining that the Nigeria international is experiencing discomfort in his right knee.
Precaution Ahead of Europe
The absence is believed to be temporary rather than a sign of a serious injury. With an important second-leg fixture in the UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-off against Juventus F.C. on the horizon, Galatasaray appear keen to manage Osimhen’s workload and avoid worsening the issue.
The 27-year-old has been instrumental to the team’s recent success. Over his last 10 appearances in all competitions, he has registered six goals and five assists.
In the Super Lig, he has contributed at least one goal in each of his last six matches — scoring in five consecutive games before providing two assists in the win over Eyüpspor. His impressive run of form has coincided with a strong spell for the reigning Turkish champions.
Title Push Continues

Galatasaray currently sit top of the Super Lig table with 55 points, three ahead of second-placed Fenerbahçe. They also lead their group in the Turkish Cup and remain firmly in contention for a place in the Champions League round of 16.
Saturday’s away trip to Konyaspor will test the squad’s depth. Galatasaray secured a 3–1 victory in the reverse fixture in September and will be aiming to complete the league double.
Konyaspor, meanwhile, sit 14th with 20 points — just two above the relegation zone. Without a league win since October, they face a challenging task against the table leaders, even in Osimhen’s absence.
