Following the deadly violence in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has openly called out Nigeria’s Defence Minister, Christopher Musa, demanding urgent and decisive action to address the country’s worsening security situation.

The Kogi Central lawmaker reacted shortly after reports emerged that scores of people were killed in the recent attack, describing the incident as yet another painful reminder that many Nigerians remain unsafe.

In a strongly worded message, she expressed disappointment over what she sees as a gap between promises and reality, noting that expectations were high when the Defence Minister addressed the Senate during his screening.

However, according to her, Nigerians are no longer interested in reassurances or repeated statements—they want visible results and real

protection.

She urged the military leadership to go beyond sympathy messages and take concrete steps to stop the continuous loss of lives across the country. The senator warned that repeated attacks without strong response are gradually eroding public trust in Nigeria’s security system.

In her words:

“Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected.

During your screening, your words gave hope… but now is the time to prove you are different.

Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results.”

Her comments have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians echoing similar concerns about insecurity and calling for urgent government intervention.
