A user on X (formerly Twitter) has shared the story behind an alleged incident in which a woman reportedly stole her boyfriend’s gold chain to purchase an iPhone 16.

The X user, identified as @honestarsenalF, claimed that the girlfriend’s actions were driven by peer pressure. According to the post, the incident occurred in October 2025 and initially led to a serious misunderstanding between the boyfriend and his male friend, who was living with him at the time.

When the gold chain went missing, suspicion reportedly fell on the male friend, resulting in a heated dispute. The situation escalated to the point where the friend had to move out of the apartment.

Truth Discovered

The truth allegedly came to light after the girlfriend had a falling-out with one of her own friends. During the disagreement, one of her friends reportedly informed the boyfriend about what had really happened to the missing chain.

It was later revealed that the chain had allegedly been sold to fund the purchase of an iPhone 16.

According to the post, the woman — who is said to be pregnant — has since been arrested, while her boyfriend is demanding the return of his gold chain.

In explaining her actions, she reportedly claimed that her boyfriend did not provide her with enough financial support. She alleged that he frequently spent money on himself but would not have given her money to buy the phone if she had asked.

As stated in the tweet:

“Her only excuse for stealing was that her boyfriend doesn’t spend enough on her and always spends on himself. She said he has many gold chains, and if she had asked him for money to buy the phone, he wouldn’t have given it to her. So she felt she had to do it since he has several gold chains, and that was the smallest one.”

The story has since generated widespread reactions online, with many users debating issues of trust, entitlement, peer pressure, and accountability in relationships.
