A young Nigerian woman has sparked reactions online after sharing how a street encounter with a man who tried to woo her turned into what she described as a life-changing spiritual moment.

The story was shared by Franca Iwuchukwu on her Facebook page, where she recounted how she used the opportunity to introduce the young man to Christ.

From Street Approach to Spiritual Conversation

Franca explained that she typically avoids engaging with unfamiliar men who approach her on the street, as she considers it disrespectful.

“One thing I really don’t like is responding to unknown guys on the road while I’m walking. I see it as disrespectful. And honestly, God, please don’t let me unknowingly chase my future husband away because of ‘forming hard girl’ on the road,” she wrote.

However, she said she felt a nudge in her spirit encouraging her to respond when the young man greeted her in the usual street fashion. After exchanging pleasantries, she redirected the conversation toward faith.

According to her, the man initially expressed romantic interest, telling her he liked her and wanted them to be friends. But Franca said she shifted the focus.

“I told him, ‘Do you know Jesus loves you more? Do you know you can be a friend of Jesus and enjoy every part of that relationship?’ He smiled and said he knows about Jesus, but he likes me — that’s why he was talking to me,” she shared.

When she continued speaking about Jesus, she said he attempted to change the subject back to his feelings for her. Franca then asked if he was a Christian. He reportedly replied that he attended church and had given his life to Christ.

Leading a Soul to Christ

Franca said his demeanor soon changed during the conversation.

“At that point, he became very calm, with a broken heart and spirit. I asked if he was ready to genuinely give his life to Christ. He said yes,” she wrote.

She said she led him in a prayer of salvation, which he repeated after her.

“My dear, that was it. A new soul was won. Heaven rejoices,” she added.

Continued Guidance and Church Attendance

Franca didn’t stop there. She revealed that she gave him a Bible and invited him to attend church services with her, including evening services, vigils, and Sunday worship.

“He told me he had never held a Bible before. I was shocked and asked, ‘Really?’ He said yes, that it was his first time. I smiled and told him I would get him a new one,” she said.

After a service, she reportedly introduced him to members of the church protocol unit. On their way home, he told her he enjoyed the pastor’s message — something that made her happy.

She added that his enthusiasm for church activities soon became noticeable, sometimes even surpassing her own due to her academic commitments.

“He even reminded me about Tuesday and Thursday evening services and said he would attend. Imagine the person I invited to church becoming more serious than me! But I told him I might not always be available because of lectures,” she wrote, adding, “This God is truly great.”

Her story has since generated mixed reactions online, with some praising her boldness in sharing her faith, while others debated the circumstances of the encounter.
