A Nigerian man has gone viral after recounting his Valentine’s Day encounter with a woman he described as a new friend.
The man, identified as @BenKing443 on X (formerly Twitter), shared that the incident took place in Enugu.
According to him, he had ordered a Valentine’s Day package from a vendor based in Enugu while spending time with the lady.
He claimed that before the gift arrived, she appeared uninterested and remained glued to her phone despite his attempts to start a conversation.
However, once the vendor showed up with a neatly packaged box, her demeanor reportedly changed.
He wrote in part:
“After some time, the vendor arrived with a box, well packaged. At that point, she stopped pressing her phone. Full attention unlocked. She listened closely as I spoke with the vendor, already convinced the gift was hers. After we were done talking, I stood up calmly, told her I was heading home, picked up the box and left.”
According to him, he later handed the Valentine’s package to his younger sister, who was excited to receive it.
He added that the woman later reached out to question his actions, but he chose to block her.
The post has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some praising his move as a lesson in attentiveness, while others criticized it as unnecessary and immature.
