Kaduna Polytechnic Female Students Blocked from Entering Campus Over Outfits, Spark Online Outrage
Female students at Kaduna Polytechnic have voiced their frustration after being denied entry into the school premises over their clothing, an incident that has ignited reactions across social media.
A viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) shows a Mass Communication student expressing her annoyance at the school’s security operatives. She accused them of being unfair and overly strict.
“One man in particular called me back. This is someone I’ve encountered before. Students have to fight with him at the gate because he’s too extreme,” she said in the video.
Other female students, who were also blocked, could be seen and heard expressing their frustration over the incident, highlighting the strictness of the gate security.
The situation quickly drew reactions online.
Senator Obi commented: “If you are fasting, stay in your house. What is so special about these Muslim fasts that they want everyone to stop what they do? If you don’t want distractions, stay home.”
Pretty Catchy added: “This religion is a problem to the entire world. Everything seems to bother them. The students should stand their ground. This is totally unacceptable in a diverse country like Nigeria.”
Another user, Leg, said: “How else can one cover bodies that are already covered?”
TMD emphasized: “There are people who take things to the extreme. They need to be called out. Islam preaches peaceful cohabitation, irrespective of what you choose to believe.”
The incident has sparked widespread debate about dress codes, religious sensitivities, and student rights in Nigerian schools.
