Nigerian gospel minister and pastor Nathaniel Bassey has shared details of an encounter he described as spiritual in nature, involving a man he alleged attempted to place him under a spell.
According to the cleric, the incident happened along an express road and marked the second time he had seen the same individual. He said the man approached his vehicle, knocked on the window, and began what he interpreted as an attempt at enchantment.

Bassey explained that instead of reacting in fear, he responded by declaring Bible verses affirming divine protection. He expressed confidence that no harm could come to him and said the alleged spell had no effect.
Reflecting on the moment, he stated that his intention in sharing the testimony was not to glorify evil, but to highlight what he believes are spiritual realities and the power of faith.
In his words:
“I don’t know how we knew, but this was the second time this same man was coming.
One time on the express road, he knocked on my car. He was casting an enchantment, hoping it would influence me. He was commanding me to do something, but I just stood there and laughed.
I said, ‘Didn’t they tell you that as they went from one kingdom to another, He suffered no man to do them wrong; He rebuked kings for their sake, saying, “Touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm”?’
While he was there waiting for the spell to work, I remembered that the Bible says there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.
I eventually stepped out of my car and ordered him to leave. I’m not saying this to boast, but while we do not glorify the devil, there is wickedness in the world.”
The pastor’s account has since generated mixed reactions online, with supporters affirming his faith-based stance while others expressed curiosity and skepticism about the incident.
