Nollywood actor Kunle Remi has expressed frustration over Nigeria’s rising fuel prices and ongoing energy challenges, calling for greater accountability from leaders and citizens alike.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, the actor stated that although he usually avoids political discussions, the current situation in the country has made it necessary for Nigerians to speak up.
“I don’t even know how to begin this conversation… Usually I say things like I don’t get involved in politics, I don’t talk about politics. But that’s the most unrealistic statement anyone can make in Nigeria right now. We should be discussing, trying to fix things, and asking questions about what is happening in the nation. There’s nothing like sitting on the fence,” he said.
Kunle Remi highlighted the impact of rising fuel and diesel prices, describing the situation as mentally and emotionally exhausting. He explained that the increase in costs is affecting not just businesses but also individuals, including members of his team who now struggle with transportation expenses.

He further criticised the country’s reliance on limited refining capacity, noting that multiple refineries are not functioning effectively while citizens continue to bear the burden of high fuel costs.
“I live on the Island, we’ve been running generators back to back. Petrol is about ₦1,300 now. My staff are trying, but it’s hard for them to even come to work. All the things I’m working for… for what? It’s affecting me mentally, and I feel very frustrated,” he added.
The actor also questioned some of his colleagues who openly support the current administration, asking whether their stance reflects the realities Nigerians are facing.
His comments have sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians sharing similar concerns about the rising cost of living, fuel prices, and the need for improved governance.
