Victor Osimhen has been tipped for a potential move to one of Europe’s elite clubs after an exceptional season with Galatasaray. Turkish analyst Uğur Meleke believes the Nigerian striker has firmly established himself among the world’s top forwards.

Osimhen has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s bid to retain the Süper Lig title and in their UEFA Champions League campaign. He has scored seven goals in Europe this season, including important strikes against Liverpool and Juventus. He also reached double figures in the league with a goal in the 3–1 victory over Alanyaspor at the weekend.

“One of the Top Five Strikers in the World”

Meleke placed Osimhen among football’s elite.

“Victor Osimhen, in my opinion, is one of the top five strikers in the world,” he said. “He’s a player who can be mentioned alongside — and ranked with — Haaland, Lewandowski and Lautaro Martinez.”

He added that a player of Osimhen’s quality would not typically be expected to be playing in the Süper Lig at this stage of his career.

“Normally, you wouldn’t expect him to be in the Süper Lig at this age. But sometimes life takes a different path. That’s how Osimhen’s story unfolded,” Meleke noted.

According to the analyst, Osimhen’s pace, power and goal-scoring consistency make him a natural fit for Europe’s biggest clubs, suggesting that a move to Real Madrid, Manchester City or Liverpool would not be surprising.

“Better Than Gyokeres”

Meleke also compared Osimhen favourably to Viktor Gyokeres.

“I think he’s better than Gyokeres,” he said, arguing that only a select few forwards can match the Nigerian’s all-round ability and scoring output.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray from Napoli last summer in a deal reportedly worth €75 million. Despite growing transfer speculation, Galatasaray officials have insisted that the striker remains central to their long-term plans and is “not for sale.”
