Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has declared his support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

His endorsement comes in response to criticism from online commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), who questioned Cubana Chiefpriest’s backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing concerns about the president’s electoral viability in the Southeast.

Nigerian socialite and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has shared his reasons for supporting the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

His remarks followed criticism from popular online commentator Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). VDM challenged Cubana Chiefpriest’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pointing to the socialite’s earlier statement that Tinubu could struggle to secure votes in the Southeast if political activist Nnamdi Kanu remained imprisoned in Sokoto.

VDM wrote, “MNK still dey Sokoto prison. You don rush go dey campaign for the same President Tinubu,” highlighting what he saw as a contradiction in Cubana Chiefpriest’s stance.

In response, Cubana Chiefpriest defended his position, stating: “@verydarkblackman I no fit help MNK from opposition. I have always been an APC. My father, Governor Hope, has worked so hard with the APC for me not to support him as DG Renewed Hope.” He explained that his alignment with the ruling party was a strategic decision and underscored his long-standing affiliation with the APC.

He also clarified his political involvement in the previous election, adding: “Last election, as special adviser to Governor Hope, I worked for Peter Obi. But this time, I dey with Asiwaju.”

In addition, Cubana Chiefpriest revealed his own political plans, announcing: “Me self I dey run for federal house for my constituency under APC.”
