Nigerian music star Olamide has offered a philosophical take on the ongoing fan debates and rivalries surrounding Afrobeats’ biggest artists, particularly Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Olamide suggested that fans should cease their prolonged arguments over who is superior, emphasizing that there is enough success for everyone in the industry.
Olamide wrote:
“Honestly, this whole length 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever. You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else. Feel free to believe what you want or support whoever you choose—there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.”
He then went on to highlight the maturity of the artists at the center of the debates, suggesting that they are above the petty disputes often manufactured by fans.
“However, one thing to remember is that Burna, David, and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today.”
