Social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has called out the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the ruling party has no business campaigning before Nigerians can even judge their performance. In a video that’s gone viral online, he argued that leaders should focus on serving the people, not billboards and campaigns.
“You have your first four years to serve the people. Let them beg you to run again, don’t start campaigning for yourself,” he said, stressing that effective leadership naturally earns votes.
VDM even highlighted Abia State Governor Alex Otti as an example of leaders who earn public trust through results. “Just like Alex Otti… people beg him, ‘Otti, you must run again,’” he noted.
Insecurity Takes Centre Stage
The activist made it clear that Nigeria’s worsening security situation is the real problem, not political posturing. Farmers are reportedly too afraid to go to their farms due to armed groups, while Boko Haram’s influence continues to spread. “Insecurity… that is my main problem,” he said.
Campaign Cash Over Citizens’ Needs
VDM also called out the APC for spending huge sums on campaigns and social media influencers instead of addressing pressing issues. “You have money for billboards, for influencers, yet people are still unsafe. You’re preaching lies to the people,” he said.
A Warning to Nigerians
He ended with a sharp message to voters: resist vote-buying and shallow promises. “Nigerians, this greed to just collect quick cash… think carefully. Choose leaders who actually deliver,” he urged.
The video has sparked heated debates online, with some praising his courage and others questioning his timing.
VDM: APC have no right whatsoever to campaign in this country again. They already have their first four years from 2023 to 2027 for the people to beg them to run – not for them to come back and campaign. Their first four years would’ve made Nigerians kneel down and beg them not… pic.twitter.com/o8i0LjM0DK
