A man has sparked discussion online after sharing how he once resigned from his job as a primary school teacher in order to follow his wife to another state where she had secured a better-paying job.
According to him, the decision eventually transformed their lives, leading to financial stability and a successful family life abroad.
He explained that at the time, he was earning about ₦60,000 as a primary school teacher when he decided to marry his wife. Shortly before their wedding, she landed a well-paying job in another state, forcing them to make an important decision about their future.
Choosing marriage over tradition
The man said the couple did not want to start their marriage living in different states. As a result, one of them had to give up their job.
After careful consideration, he chose to resign from his teaching position so he could relocate with his wife and support her career. He explained that although the decision went against traditional expectations, it ultimately worked out well for them.
Looking back, he said the sacrifice played a key role in shaping their journey toward financial growth and a more stable life for their family.
