Three men have been arrested in Algeria after allegedly attempting to enter Spain using an unusual disguise that has since gone viral online.
A Desperate Bid to Cross the Border
According to reports, the men tried to cross into Spain illegally by hiding inside a truck transporting livestock. In an effort to avoid detection, they allegedly dressed in sheep costumes and positioned themselves among the animals in the vehicle.
However, the plan quickly unraveled.
“Two-Legged Sheep” Raise Suspicion
During a routine border inspection, officials reportedly noticed that some of the “sheep” were behaving oddly. Authorities observed that a few of the animals appeared to be standing and moving on two legs, with visible human features beneath their coverings.
Alarmed by the strange movements, officers conducted a closer inspection and discovered that three of the sheep were, in fact, men in disguise. They were immediately removed from the truck and taken into custody.
Possible Charges
The suspects are reportedly being held and could face charges related to immigration fraud. Some reports also suggest they may face additional allegations of animal cruelty, after allegedly stepping on and disturbing the livestock while attempting to blend in.
