A family disagreement in a Nigerian community has drawn widespread attention online after a mother accused her sister-in-law of physically assaulting her during an argument over her children’s haircuts.

The incident, which was captured in a video shared on X, shows a tense confrontation involving family members and neighbors attempting to intervene.

Dispute Over Children’s Haircuts

According to the mother, the conflict began after she discovered that her children’s hair had been cut without her consent less than a week after leaving them in her sister-in-law’s care.

Explaining her side of the story, she said:

“Because we asked her why she cut the kids’ hair barely one week after we left them with her, she pushed me down. Even her neighbor was supporting her.”

She expressed shock over what she described as a physical assault, saying she felt deeply hurt and disrespected.

“She pushed me down! I trusted her to look after my children, and this is how she treats me — in front of everyone.”

The mother emphasized that her main concern was the lack of respect for her authority as a parent.

Neighbors Step In

The confrontation quickly attracted attention from neighbors and other relatives, some of whom attempted to calm the situation.

In the video, a man believed to be mediating the dispute can be heard urging restraint, reportedly saying, “Calm down, it’s a family matter,” as others tried to separate the two women.

The sister-in-law, however, defended her actions and denied any wrongdoing, though tensions remained visibly high.

The clip has since generated mixed reactions on social media. While some users condemned the alleged assault and supported the mother’s stance on parental boundaries, others called for reconciliation and better communication within the family.

The video continues to circulate online, fueling conversations about respect, family roles, and conflict resolution.
