Media personality Daddy Freeze has weighed in on the growing calls for popular streamer Peller to quit content creation and return to school, strongly disagreeing with the advice.

Reacting to the debate, Freeze argued that digital content creation can be highly rewarding when done successfully. To support his point, he cited American YouTuber IShowSpeed as an example of how far online creators can go and how lucrative the industry has become.

According to Freeze, the streamer reportedly earns as much as $800,000 a month but still considers it small compared to the level of effort he puts into his content.

“IShowSpeed recently complained that YouTube pays him $800,000 monthly. That’s about ₦1.2 billion every month, and he still feels it’s not enough for the amount of work he puts in. And you’re telling Peller to leave what he’s doing and come and join you in school?” he said.

“Do you even make $100,000 a year? Those of you in Canada, America, and the UK — some of you don’t even earn up to $200,000 annually. Yet look at the kind of figures these young guys are talking about,” he said.

Freeze maintained that secondary school education is the only compulsory level of academic training. He noted that careers such as medicine, law, engineering, and pharmacy require formal university qualifications.

However, when it comes to creatives who are already thriving in the digital space, he questioned whether returning to school is always necessary.

While some Nigerians supported his stance, arguing that success in today’s digital economy speaks for itself, others insisted that formal education offers structure, discipline, and long-term security beyond the uncertainties of internet fame.

It will be recalled that IShowSpeed visited Nigeria a few weeks ago as part of his African tour to mark his 21st birthday. During the visit, Peller reportedly tried to meet him but was allegedly denied access by his security team.

The debate has continued to trend online, with many Nigerians weighing in on the balance between education and financial success in an increasingly digital world.
