A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share her younger sister’s unusual experience with a landlord after a disagreement over a mirror installed inside her apartment in Port Harcourt.
According to the post circulating online, the tenant had only recently moved into the new apartment when she decided to remove a mirror that the landlord had mounted in her personal space.
However, the landlord reportedly objected to the decision and insisted that the mirror must remain in the room. He allegedly told the tenant that if she refused to keep it there, he would refund her rent.
Tenant considers moving out
Following the disagreement, the woman revealed that her sister has decided to collect her rent back on Monday rather than continue living in the apartment under those conditions.
She also plans to request a refund for every expense she has already incurred since moving into the property.
Sharing the situation online, the woman wrote:
“My younger sister moved into a new apartment in Port Harcourt and removed a mirror the landlord mounted in her personal space.
Now the landlord says the mirror must remain there or he will refund her rent.
She has decided to collect her money back on Monday and plans to demand every kobo she has already spent on the apartment.
I honestly don’t understand why a landlord would insist on keeping a mirror in a tenant’s space. Please retweet.😭🙏”
