Popular Twitch streamer and content creator Kai Cenat has arrived in Lagos for his second visit to Nigeria, reigniting conversations around his long-promised school project for underprivileged children.
Cenat was welcomed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Wednesday with live music and a festive reception, quickly sparking buzz across social media.
Arrival Sparks Social Media Buzz in Lagos
Nearly a year after his first visit, Cenat’s $5 million pledge to build a school for children in the Makoko waterfront community is still underway.
Initial delays were reportedly caused by land acquisition challenges and regulatory issues within the floating settlement, leading to a decision to relocate the project to Yaba — an area with more stable infrastructure.
Despite the change in location, Cenat has confirmed that children from Makoko will still benefit from free education once the school becomes operational.
During Mafiathon 3, Cenat revealed that more than $1 million has already been raised for the initiative.
