Faithia, who turned 55 on Thursday, February 5, hosted a star-studded birthday party on Sunday, February 8. The celebration brought together top Nollywood personalities, including Malaika, Funke Akindele, Pasuma, Kazim Adeoti, Regina Chukwu, Fausat Balogun, and Shaffy Bello.
Hours after the party, Faithia took to her official social media pages to announce that her mother had passed away on the eve of the celebration, casting a shadow over the joyous occasion.
She revealed that the family had kept the news from her until after the celebration.

In a deeply emotional post, Faithia Balogun wrote:
“Dear friends, it was my 55th birthday on Thursday, February 5. However, I chose to have a party yesterday, Sunday. Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother passed away on the eve of my party, and the news was cruelly kept from me. The reality of her passing has not fully sunk in, because she was my cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner—all wrapped in the invaluable gift of a mother.”
She added that the family would be keeping a private mourning period and that burial arrangements would be shared at a later date.
