A young man’s attempt to impress his crush reportedly ended in disappointment after he discovered she was already in a relationship.

The story was shared by @MilanKore on X (formerly Twitter), where it quickly gained attention.

Man Visits His Crush’s Church

According to the post, the man identified as Shola decided to attend his crush’s church for a night vigil after seeing her WhatsApp status that read, “I love men who pray.”

Despite not being a fan of night vigils — and preferring his sleep — Shola reportedly spent his last ₦2,000 on transportation just to be there.

“He didn’t even like night vigil like that. Shola loved sleeping, but she posted on her WhatsApp status: ‘I love men who pray.’ So he went,” the tweet read in part.

During the service, Shola allegedly stood two rows behind her, closing his eyes whenever she turned around to avoid being caught staring.

After the vigil, he finally gathered the courage to strike up a conversation with her. However, the moment quickly turned heartbreaking when she mentioned that her boyfriend was a church worker.

The X user described the aftermath humorously, writing:
“Shola felt his soul leave his body small small. He still had to borrow transport to go back home.”
