A Nigerian woman has shared her painful experience online after accusing her husband of impregnating another woman despite her financial sacrifices to support him. The story, shared on Facebook by Fegor Chime, has sparked discussions about trust, marriage, and financial responsibility.
According to the woman, she married her husband as a virgin while he was still struggling financially. Demonstrating her support, she used her personal savings to open a building materials shop for him, reportedly investing nearly ₦7 million.
She also purchased land prior to their marriage, and together they built a three-bedroom apartment, which was completed last year. All property documents are in her name, and the couple currently has one child.
The woman said she began noticing changes in her husband’s behaviour last year, including putting passwords on his phone and social media accounts. Initially, she overlooked these signs.
Her concerns deepened after she suffered an infection that required costly treatment. She later came to believe it was linked to her husband’s alleged extramarital activities.
She alleged that her husband impregnated another woman, who eventually approached her directly to explain the situation. Confronted with evidence, the husband reportedly denied the claims initially, but the woman’s elder brother and the other woman later confirmed the affair.
In response, the woman has taken steps to protect her assets and her family. Her brother has reportedly taken control of the shop keys, and she has given her husband three days to vacate the house. She stated that she intends to file for divorce, expressing that she could not trust him to remain faithful.
Her post has sparked widespread reactions online, with many sympathising with her while others caution about the complexities of marriage, financial dependence, and trust.
