Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has spoken candidly about her personality, emotional intensity, and ongoing journey toward better mental health. Known for her fierce dedication both on and off-screen, Akindele admitted she can sometimes “love too hard” and cut people off quickly, acknowledging that finding balance is a work in progress.

During an appearance on The Morayo Show, she revealed how guidance from her close friend and industry colleague, Uzee Usman, has helped her reflect on relationships and leadership. She recalled a moment when he advised her to be more understanding and less reactive when dealing with people, emphasizing that patience and tolerance are essential qualities for effective leadership.

According to Akindele, this advice prompted her to rethink how she handles conflicts and interpersonal interactions. She also reflected on her upbringing and the influence of her late mother, who often reminded her to stay calm during challenging situations.

“I know I am an extremist. I love so hard, I’m real, I’m not perfect, I can be tough. When my mum was alive, she would always tell me to calm down… It’s good but calm down. Human relationships are very important to me, and I’m learning every day, but no matter what happens, my mental health is very important,” she said.

Her openness comes just days after a viral video showed her snubbing fellow actress Toyin Abraham at the premiere of Iyabo Ojo’s movie, which sparked discussions online about celebrity interactions and personal boundaries.

Akindele’s reflections highlight the delicate balance between emotional authenticity and self-care, reminding fans that even public figures continuously work on managing relationships and maintaining mental wellness.
