The controversy between the Nigerian Army and dismissed soldier Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boi, has taken a fresh turn — and it’s getting even more intense.
Just days after the Army dismissed his earlier statements as false, the ex-lance corporal has come out again, boldly insisting that he is telling the truth — and this time, he says he has proof.
In a new video making rounds online, Soja Boi presented what he described as payment receipts, breaking down different parts of his earnings while in service. According to him, the documents show his salary, operational allowances, and other benefits he received.
He explained that some of these payments are not regular and depend on active deployment.
“This one na my salary… this one na that ₦20K I talk about… operation allowance dey there too. If you no dey operation, dem no go pay you,” he said.
He further mentioned an additional allowance he referred to as a “cigarette allowance,” stating that it is also tied to field operations and not given at all times.
Despite the backlash, Soja Boi maintained that he is not trying to tarnish the image of the military but simply sharing what he described as the reality on ground.
“It’s not as if I’m trying to spoil the image of the Nigerian Army… I’m just speaking facts and I will back it with evidence,” he added.
He also challenged the public to verify his claims independently by speaking with friends or relatives currently serving in the military.
His latest response has further fueled the already heated debate online, with Nigerians split between those who believe his “receipts” and those who stand by the Army’s official position.
As both sides hold their ground, the situation continues to spark conversations about transparency, welfare, and discipline within the military.
