Afrobeats star Burna Boy has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged clash with DJ Tunez, offering his own version of events — and taking direct shots at Wizkid in the process.
Speaking during an Instagram Live session, Burna Boy dismissed earlier reports that DJ Tunez was attacked by multiple people, insisting that he acted alone and that the situation has been exaggerated online.
“No be 10 people touch DJ Tunez, na only me and na only two slaps I give am… I swear with my mama, if I dey lie, make Ogun carry my mama go anywhere wey Wizkid’s mama dey,” he said.
Burna Boy Calls Out Wizkid
The Grammy-winning singer didn’t hold back as he mocked Wizkid’s reaction to the incident, suggesting that the Starboy boss chose social media over real-life confrontation.
“He come go dey tweet, I think say he go send squad… na internet their own power dey. We na real life our own power dey.”
Burna Boy further claimed he expected a stronger response after the incident, but was surprised when it didn’t escalate beyond online reactions.
“I even think say him go call their oga… but na tweet him oga come dey tweet. So what was the point? That means I don waste my time.”
What Really Happened?
The controversy began after reports surfaced that Burna Boy and members of his crew were involved in a nightclub altercation with DJ Tunez. Eyewitness accounts alleged that the situation escalated, with claims that the DJ was confronted and physically attacked by multiple individuals.
However, Burna Boy has now denied those claims, maintaining that no one else touched the DJ, and that he even warned others to stay out of it.
“I tell people make them no touch am. Na only me touch am. If say 10 people touch am, na so him go dey?”
DJ Tunez Reacts
In response to the incident, DJ Tunez reportedly criticised Burna Boy, describing the act as a sign of weakness. He also claimed that he stood his ground despite being outnumbered, further fueling the back-and-forth narrative online.
Adding more fuel to the drama, Burna Boy later shared a video of himself in a relaxed mood, vibing to a track by DJ Tunez — a move many interpreted as a subtle jab.
Fans React as Tension Builds
The situation has since sparked massive reactions across social media, with fans of both artists taking sides as the long-standing tension between the two Afrobeats giants resurfaces once again.
With both camps throwing subtle and direct shots, many are now watching closely to see whether this feud will escalate further — or eventually be settled behind the scenes.
“no be 10 people beat DJ Tunez, na only me and na only two slaps i give am. i swear with my mama, if i dey lie make ogun carry my mama go anywhere wey Wizkid mama dey… he come go dey tweet, i think say he go send squad. na internet their own power dey.” — Burna Boy speaks! 🗣️ pic.twitter.com/J3LTyuZSGs
