A 42-year-old married woman, Mrs. Tilewa Olatunde Funke, who was earlier reported missing, has been found in a hotel room in Ondo State alongside a 55-year-old man identified as Isa Alaba.

According to reports, the woman left Ilara-Mokin for Akure at about 10 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, but later became unreachable after her phone was switched off, raising concern among family members.

Her sudden disappearance led to panic and a search effort involving relatives and security operatives, who worked to trace her whereabouts.

She was eventually located in a hotel in the Ugbe-Akoko area, about 124 kilometres from Ilara-Mokin.

A source familiar with the situation said:

“She was not abducted as initially feared. She left on her own without informing anyone and was later found with the man in the hotel.”

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, urged the public to avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic or mislead investigations.

He noted that such situations often create avoidable alarm and divert security attention from genuine emergencies.

DSP Abayomi also emphasized the importance of communication within families, stating that many similar cases could be resolved privately rather than escalating into public concern.

The incident has since generated mixed reactions online, with many discussing trust, communication, and relationship boundaries.
