A new twist has emerged in the ongoing controversy surrounding the family of late Afrobeats singer, Mohbad, as his widow, Wunmi, has finally spoken out amid the lingering DNA dispute with her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba.
The issue, which has remained in the public eye for months, centres around the paternity of her son, Liam, with Mohbad’s father repeatedly calling for a DNA test to confirm the child’s legitimacy.
However, Wunmi has maintained that she is not against the test, accusing her father-in-law of delaying the process despite publicly demanding it.
Speaking during a TikTok livestream, Wunmi expressed frustration over the situation, stating that she is prepared to stand her ground for as long as it takes.
“If you are not going back to that, we will be in this battle for too long. 20 years, I’m still here. You have no power over Liam,” she said.
She further revealed that she was actually the first to request a DNA test but chose to remain silent amid the growing rumours and public pressure.
According to her, she was never officially informed about any DNA test being carried out, despite the issue constantly trending online.
Wunmi also pointed out that there are unresolved legal matters, including a court order directing her father-in-law to apologise — a directive she claims has not been followed.
The ongoing dispute continues to generate intense reactions across social media, with many Nigerians divided over the situation, as calls for clarity and justice in Mohbad’s case remain strong.
