A Nigerian lady has shared a heartbreaking story about how her friend missed a major job opportunity after an unexpected encounter with police on his way to an interview.
According to @official-QV on X (formerly Twitter), her friend was stopped at a checkpoint and held for about two hours after officers claimed he “looked suspicious” — despite being fully dressed for a job interview.
By the time he was released, it was already too late.
He arrived at the company only to find out he had missed the interview window.
When he later reached out, he was told the position had already been filled.
“They said they had moved on… he didn’t get another chance,” she shared.
She added that the experience completely altered his career path, all because of a delay he had no control over.
“A policeman who will never know his name changed his life in just 2 hours,” she wrote.
The story has since triggered massive reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences and calling it a reflection of daily realities.
One user wrote, “This country fit frustrate person honestly,” while another said, “Make Nigeria no happen to anybody.”
