A lady has stirred conversations online after narrating how her mother confronted and beat a school staff member who severely punished her younger sister over a failed quiz.
According to her, the school called her mother to report that her sister suddenly developed a fever and had to be taken home. Suspicious, the mother rushed back from work.
She discovered that her child had been flogged mercilessly by a female staff member — popularly called “aunty” in many Nigerian schools. The punishment was so severe that the girl threw up and started running a fever.
The mother did not take it lightly.
“She went out, bought four canes, and headed to the school. Unfortunately for the aunty, my mum caught her off guard, broke all the canes on her body, and continued with her hands. The aunty saw pepper that day.”
The staff member was reportedly dismissed by the school management shortly after.
The internet is reacting. One person wrote: “That teacher will never flog a child again. The mother taught her a lesson.” Another said: “Violence is not the answer. She should have reported to the authorities.” 😤
Someone else added: “Flogging a child until she vomits is not discipline. That is abuse.”
A different voice said: “The mother is lucky she wasn’t arrested. Two wrongs don’t make a right.”
