A Nigerian lady has recounted a surprising encounter after allegedly receiving a ₦500,000 transfer from an unknown sender.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady, identified by the handle @_raesparkles, said she initially had no idea who sent the money, prompting her to visit the bank to seek clarification about the transaction.
She explained that she later reached out to the sender, but the call was abruptly ended. According to her, repeated attempts to contact him via calls and messages were ignored.
She said it was only after several hours that she was able to speak with him again, and the conversation took an unexpected turn.
According to her, the man responded angrily, saying:
“May God not allow me have business with poor people. Because of 500k, you want to call me to glory,” she recounted, adding that he also used a Hausa phrase during the exchange.
The lady further claimed she later checked the sender’s name on Truecaller, which matched the bank details. She also said a quick online search led her to believe he was a well-known Northern figure.
Sharing what she did next, she jokingly added that she planned to message him again after a week to remind him about sending her “weekly allowance,” since he had already decided to assist her financially.
The post has since generated reactions online, with users debating the incident and its possible context.
