Celebrity barman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has recounted his first meeting with Afrobeats superstar Davido, describing the singer as genuinely warm, supportive, and full of positive energy even before they became close friends.
Speaking during a recent interview, Cubana Chief Priest revealed that they first met at the Intercontinental Hotel during a celebration he organised for his son after the child returned to Nigeria as a citizen of the United States.
According to him, Davido happened to be at the poolside during the event and joined in celebrating with him despite not knowing who he was at the time.
He added that he had already booked Davido to appear at his club in Owerri before their first physical meeting.
Reflecting on the encounter, Cubana Chief Priest said the singer’s excitement and genuine happiness for him left a lasting impression.
“I met Davido for the first time at Intercontinental Hotel when I was celebrating my son returning to Nigeria after becoming a citizen.
He was at the poolside with me and was genuinely happy for me without even knowing who I was,” he said.
