A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after revealing how she allegedly discovered that her boyfriend, who repeatedly claimed to be single and childless, was actually married with children.
The story was shared in a viral video posted on X by user @teeniiola, where the lady, identified as Aisha, narrated how she unexpectedly ran into the man during Eid celebrations in Shomolu, Lagos.
Relationship reportedly began three months ago
According to Aisha, she and the man, identified as Jamil, had been dating for about three months and everything initially appeared normal.
She claimed he constantly denied being married or having children whenever she asked him.
“Some men know that they will never find heaven. Like whatever they do, I swear to God… Jamil, you will never find heaven,” she said emotionally.
“So me and Jamil started dating like three months ago. Everything was going fine. He’s a nice guy. He used to spend money on me.”
“And I asked Jamil, are you married? To be sincere. He said he’s not married. Do you have kids? He said no. He’s 35 years old.”
Surprise encounter during Eid celebration
Aisha explained that she initially planned to spend Eid at her mother’s place but later travelled to her aunt’s house in Shomolu for Ileya preparations.
According to her, after Eid prayers, she unexpectedly spotted Jamil in the area alongside a woman and three children.
“So, I went for Eid. I didn’t know Jamil is living in Shomolu,” she said.
“As we finished Eid prayers and were going outside, I saw Jamil. I’m like, what is Jamil doing in Shomolu? I saw a woman. I saw three children. They were looking like family.”
Mosque members allegedly confirmed he was married
Still unsure of what she had seen, Aisha said she approached an elderly woman nearby to ask about him.
According to her, the woman confirmed that Jamil regularly attended the Central Mosque with his wife and children.
“I don’t want to believe. I thought maybe they just look alike,” she explained.
“I now went to ask one auntie about him. The auntie said he’s a regular at the Central Mosque and that’s his wife and children.”
“He introduced me as his mother’s friend’s child”
Aisha further revealed that she later confronted Jamil, but instead of admitting the truth, he allegedly introduced her to his wife as his mother’s friend’s child.
“When he saw me, he started giving me eye signals,” she said.
“He looked at me and said, ‘Hi Aisha, how are you doing?’ and told his wife I’m his mum’s friend’s child.”
“I was shocked. He said, ‘This is my wife.’ He had the audacity to introduce me to his wife.”
Why she chose to remain silent
Despite feeling betrayed, Aisha said she decided not to expose the relationship to the wife because of the children involved.
According to her, seeing the children reminded her of the emotional impact of growing up in a broken home.
“I looked at his children. Three beautiful children. He has a grown daughter. The daughter is like 11 years old,” she said.
“I wanted to talk to the wife, but because of the fear of God that is in me, I don’t want to spoil his family because of the children.”
“I know how it feels like to be in a broken home. I just kept quiet. Jamil, God will judge you.”
