Activist Livinus Nwosu has spoken publicly after his reported release from detention, alleging that he was issued a warning while in custody.
The development comes after social media activist Verydarkman earlier raised concerns online, claiming that Nwosu was picked up by armed men over his voter card sensitisation and civic awareness activities.
According to Nwosu, he was approached by a woman at the DSS office who allegedly warned him about the risks of continuing his advocacy work. He claimed she told him that if he were arrested again, he could “disappear,” and that his continued public sensitisation efforts could have serious consequences.
He said the warning was linked to his campaigns focused on voter education, civic participation, and governance awareness.
In his words:
“I met a woman at the DSS office and she told me that if they pick me again, I will disappear. She said if I continue evangelising and showing the public what is happening, it will not be easy for me next time…”
The claims have sparked reactions online, with supporters expressing concern over his safety and others calling for transparency regarding his detention and release.
