In an emotional post shared on Instagram, Scribz Riley reflected on his final conversation with the singer, recalling discussions about pursuing dreams, remaining focused, and maintaining a positive outlook despite life’s challenges.
Describing Talay Riley as more than just a colleague, he said the late singer was a friend, mentor, and source of inspiration to many people.
Paying tribute to his legacy, Scribz Riley wrote:

Talay Riley’s journey in music
Born in London to a Nigerian family, Talay Riley developed a passion for music from an early age. He reportedly began singing at the age of five, inspired by his older siblings and the music they played at home, including songs by MC Hammer.
Growing up in East London, he was heavily influenced by the pop music scene of the early 1990s. At the age of 18, he secured his first major publishing deal with Global Publishing while also studying Business and Law at Kingston University.
His breakthrough came in 2009 when he featured on Look for Me by Chipmunk, a track that reached No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart.
Talay Riley later signed with Jive Records and Sony Music as both a songwriter and recording artist, building a career that earned him recognition within the UK music industry.
