Nigerian Woman Cries Out Over Alleged Faulty ₦1.1 Million Phone, Says It Affects Her Business
A Nigerian woman has gone viral on social media after expressing frustration over a phone she claims she purchased for over ₦1.1 million, alleging that the device is faulty and has significantly disrupted her business operations.
In a video circulating online, she explained that the purchase was made after years of saving money while working to improve her life through content creation and business.
According to her, the decision to buy the phone was intentional and based on her need for better work tools.
“Not as if I just wake up and I remove N1.1 million naira to buy a phone. I saved for it. I saved that money,” she said.
She added that her goal was to upgrade her content production setup, noting that she uses her phone for both business and personal content creation.
“I only wanted a better life. I only wanted to work my way out from poverty,” she added.
The woman explained that she produces content for resellers and depends heavily on her phone for daily work. She stressed the intensity of her workload, saying, “I work 2, 4, 7,” to describe her constant effort in running her business.
However, she alleged that the phone developed faults shortly after purchase, particularly with the camera, which she said affected the quality of her content.
“The camera was bad and the iPhone was shining white. Even when I want to make a video in my store, it’s always shining white,” she explained.
She further claimed that efforts to resolve the issue with the seller were unsuccessful, adding that the seller allegedly responded with insults, which led her to escalate the matter.
According to her, the case was later reported to the police, where both parties were heard during mediation.
Expressing her frustration, she insisted she could not let the matter go, saying the situation has affected her livelihood.
“I’m not sure I’m going to let it slide. I can’t because my life is paused,” she said.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about consumer rights, product quality, and after-sales support in Nigeria’s mobile phone market.
