Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has stirred fresh political debate after declaring that Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not secure a second term in office.
Speaking during a recent appearance, Sowore criticized the current administration, alleging that Nigerians are facing severe hardship under Tinubu’s leadership.
“I can assure Nigerians that Tinubu is not coming back. He’s a one-term president; he’s sucking the life out of Nigerians,” he stated.
His remarks come amid growing political tension and increasing criticism from opposition figures over economic challenges and governance concerns.
Sowore also took aim at the recently signed Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2026, describing it as a potential threat to Nigeria’s democratic process.
The criticism follows President Tinubu’s approval of the amended electoral law at the State House in Abuja — a move that has sparked mixed reactions across the country, with many Nigerians and opposition parties calling for transparency and credible elections ahead of 2027.
