A Nigerian lady has stirred conversations on social media after sharing her expectations of a man who approached her following a church service.

According to her, a man who sat beside her in church appeared interested throughout the service and gave what she described as “vibes” suggesting attraction.

However, she said her perception of him changed during offering time.

“He didn’t pay my offering,” she says

The lady explained that when it was time to give offering during the service, the man made no move to cover her offering, while she went ahead and paid for it herself.

She said she was later surprised when he approached her after church to ask for her phone number.

Sharing her thoughts, she said:

“I was in church and there was this guy sitting beside me and was giving me this vibe. It was time for offering, this guy didn’t make attempt to pay for my offering. I proceeded and paid for my offering.

“After church, this guy had the mind to ask for my number. Why didn’t he pay for my offering first?”

Social media reactions

Her comments have since triggered mixed reactions online, with many users debating whether her expectation was reasonable or not.

While some argued that small gestures can reflect interest and intention, others insisted that paying offering in church should not be interpreted as a measure of romantic interest.

The discussion continues to generate engagement across social media platforms, with users divided over what constitutes appropriate “signs” of affection in such situations.
