A lady has sparked widespread reactions on social media after sharing an emotional video in which she reflected on a past relationship she says she deeply regrets ending.
In the viral clip, she appeared visibly emotional as she revealed that her former boyfriend, whom she broke up with in 2018, is now set to marry another woman.
“I left someone who was trying”
According to her, she ended the relationship because she felt her partner was not doing enough at the time and believed she would eventually find someone better.
However, she now says she realises he was genuinely caring and supportive.
She said:
“I left somebody that was trying. He was trying. He was really a good person. I left him because I thought I would see somebody better. I felt like he was not doing enough.”
She also disclosed that she reached out to him a few months ago to apologise for how she treated him during the relationship.
Ex-boyfriend has moved on
The lady explained that her former partner forgave her and told her he held no resentment over the breakup, despite how painful it had been for him.
However, she later discovered that he had already moved on and was preparing for marriage.
“He said he didn’t hold any grudges against me. He said I broke his heart. I told him I was sorry. It was then I realised he was already in a relationship. And guys, guess what? He’s getting married.”
Although visibly emotional, she said she still wished him and his fiancée well.
“I would have been the bride”
Reflecting further, she admitted that she regrets her decision and believes she acted too quickly based on expectations of finding someone better.
She said:
“The only good man that I’ve met in my entire life that treated me right is getting married to somebody else.
“I’m happy for them. He’s a good person. He deserves all the good things of life.”
She added that the reality of the situation has left her with mixed emotions, noting that she sometimes imagines how different things could have been.
“I don’t know how to feel. I would have been the bride. He loved me. He really did. He tried.”
“I wish I had been more patient”
Ending her message, she encouraged others to be more thoughtful in relationships and avoid making impulsive decisions based on unrealistic expectations.
“I really, really regret my action. I’m not going to lie. I wish I had calmed down. But then, it is what it is.”
Her story has since sparked conversations online about patience, expectations in relationships, and the long-term impact of breakup decisions.
