Trabzonspor boosted their Turkish Super Lig title hopes with an impressive 3–1 home victory over Fatih Karagümrük on Friday, as Nigerian duo Paul Onuachu and Chibuike Nwaiwu combined to deliver all three goals.
The win — Trabzonspor’s 15th of the season — cuts the gap to league leaders Galatasaray to just four points, keeping the title race wide open as the campaign approaches its final stretch.
Onuachu’s scoring streak continues
Trabzonspor made a bright start to the match, taking the lead in the 20th minute when Paul Onuachu rose highest to nod home a pinpoint cross from Ozan Tufan.
However, the visitors responded swiftly. Daniele Verde equalised in the 28th minute, ensuring the teams went into halftime level.

Onuachu’s opener marked his seventh consecutive game scoring in all competitions, underlining his remarkable run of form.
Nwaiwu shines after the break
The second half saw Chibuike Nwaiwu step into the spotlight. The defender scored his first goal for the club with a powerful flying header to restore Trabzonspor’s lead.
He then doubled his tally minutes later, finishing off a move set up by Onuachu to seal the 3–1 victory and cap a dominant display from the Nigerian pair.
With momentum building and key players hitting top form, Trabzonspor remain firmly in the hunt for the Super Lig title.
