Nigerian music producer and singer Samklef has weighed in on the controversy surrounding singer Crayon and his former label boss Don Jazzy of Mavin Records.
The drama began after Crayon, who joined the label in 2019, took to social media in a series of posts—later deleted—where he made serious allegations against the music executive. In the posts, the singer claimed that Don Jazzy was responsible for circumstances that led to his mother’s death. He also alleged that he was owed unpaid royalties and suggested that a large sum of money had been collected without him receiving his share.
Crayon further claimed that delayed payments were being used against him and vowed to eventually expose the label.

Samklef reacts
Reacting to the controversy, Samklef shared his thoughts on social media, suggesting that things had changed for Don Jazzy in recent times. He also referenced Don Jazzy’s recent association with social media activist VeryDarkMan.

Samklef questioned whether the situation could be a form of karma while also commenting on the state of the label and its artists, including Ayra Starr, whose recent appearance in a music video he criticized.
In his words:
“I tell una say Jazzy go cast soon!
Dem don see Don Jazzy finish, Crayon even call am his boy, chai! Ever since Don Jazzy met a Very Dark Man, all the signed artists no gree blow. Ayra Starr look stressed in her last video. Something is not right. Could this be karma?
