Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Igor Tudor has left his role as head coach with immediate effect, bringing an abrupt end to one of the shortest managerial spells in the club’s recent history.

The Croatian, who was appointed on an interim basis in mid‑February following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, departs after just seven matches in charge and 44 days at the helm.

Struggles on the Pitch

Tudor’s tenure failed to spark a turnaround in Tottenham’s Premier League fortunes. Under his leadership, Spurs managed only one point from five league games, leaving the club perilously close to the relegation zone.

A damaging 3‑0 home defeat to Nottingham Forest — a result that left Spurs sitting **17th in the table and just one point above the drop zone — intensified pressure on the coaching staff.

In all competitions, Tottenham also suffered setbacks, including a heavy aggregate loss in Europe, further adding to concerns over consistency and defensive frailties.

Official Announcement and Next Steps

In an official statement, Tottenham confirmed the departures of Tudor and members of his coaching staff by mutual agreement, thanking them for their efforts during a difficult period.

The club added that an update on a new head coach will be provided in due course, and that assistant coach Bruno Saltor will oversee training sessions during the current international break as preparations continue behind the scenes.

Critical Juncture for Spurs

With only seven Premier League matches remaining, Tottenham now face a pivotal period in their season as they fight to secure safety from relegation. Their next league fixture is due against Sunderland on April 12, and the timing of a new appointment could prove crucial.

Reports suggest several potential candidates are being considered to take over the managerial reins, as the club seeks someone capable of steadying the ship and inspiring a late run of results.

For now, the decision to part ways with Tudor  despite his very brief tenure  reflects Tottenham’s urgency to halt a troubling slide and rekindle momentum before it’s too late.
