Global tensions have taken a dangerous turn after former United States President Donald Trump issued a dramatic warning about the escalating crisis involving Iran.

In a strongly worded message, Trump declared that “a whole civilisation will die tonight,” raising fears of an imminent and potentially catastrophic confrontation. While expressing hope that disaster could be avoided, he added that it “probably will” happen — a statement that has sent shockwaves across the international community.

The warning comes amid rising hostilities between the United States and Iran, with tensions already stretched thin due to ongoing geopolitical conflicts. Trump also hinted at the possibility of regime change, suggesting that a new leadership in Iran could usher in what he described as a “better and less radicalised” future.

Earlier, Trump reportedly issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Iran, warning of severe consequences if certain conditions were not met. He also referenced the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil supply, stressing that failure to reopen it could trigger massive retaliation. In another message, he warned that “all hell will rain down” if deadlines are ignored.

Tensions have been further heightened by unconfirmed reports from Iranian sources claiming that U.S. fighter jets were shot down over their territory, with incidents allegedly occurring in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province and over the Gulf. Search operations for a missing U.S. officer are also reportedly ongoing.

These developments follow a surge in conflict after joint military actions involving the U.S. and Israel earlier this year, which reportedly took place even as diplomatic efforts were still in motion.

Trump had previously made headlines with his “back to the stone ages” warning, suggesting that Iran could face devastating military action. His stance was echoed by allies, further amplifying fears of a large-scale confrontation.

Despite the strong rhetoric, no detailed plan or confirmed military action has been officially outlined, leaving the global community watching anxiously as events continue to unfold.
