Nigerian comedian and activist, Mr Macaroni, has shared a disturbing account of his arrest during the 2020 End SARS protests, shedding light on what he described as a terrifying encounter with security operatives.
Recounting the incident, he revealed that he was subjected to severe physical assault while in custody, claiming he was targeted more because of his public identity.
According to him, the officers believed his celebrity status made him untouchable in terms of extreme consequences — but that didn’t stop the violence.
“I was beaten the most because I am a celebrity… but I know they cannot k!ll me,” he said.
What shocked many, however, was his claim that the officers allegedly made a chilling statement during the ordeal.
He recounted that they told him directly that if he had not been present, the outcome for other detained protesters could have been far worse.
“They said if I wasn’t there, they would have ended everyone,” he revealed.
