Human rights activist Deji Adeyanju has shared his thoughts following the Supreme Court’s recent decision on the leadership crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Reacting online, he praised the judiciary for what he described as standing firm in protecting Nigeria’s democracy.
“I commend the Supreme Court… for preserving our democracy,” he said.
He also referenced Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the president deserves credit for not giving in to pressure from political loyalists.
But what really caught attention was his take on the opposition.
Adeyanju expressed doubt that even a united opposition can defeat Tinubu in an election.
“Even with a united opposition, I don’t see them defeating Tinubu,” he said.
According to him, the opposition had its best chance during the 2023 elections but failed to take advantage of the moment.
His comments have since stirred conversations online, with many Nigerians debating the strength of the opposition and the impact of recent court decisions on the political landscape.
