Former midfielder Emmanuel Petit has called on Chelsea Football Club to make a serious move for Victor Osimhen, insisting the striker could finally solve their long-standing attacking problems.

Chelsea have struggled for years to find a reliable number nine since the era of Didier Drogba, with several big-money signings failing to deliver consistency in front of goal.

But Petit believes Osimhen is different.

The Nigerian striker has been in top form this season at Galatasaray, scoring 20 goals and adding seven assists across all competitions, further boosting his reputation as one of Europe’s most dangerous forwards.

According to Petit, Osimhen has the mentality and aggression needed to succeed in the Premier League.

“Since Drogba, there’s been a curse around Chelsea’s number nine… Osimhen has the personality to break it,” he said.

He also praised the striker’s physical style and intensity, describing him as a constant problem for defenders.

“He’s aggressive, he’s powerful, and defenders hate playing against him,” Petit added.

Osimhen’s rise has continued since his Napoli days, and despite moving to Galatasaray, interest from top European clubs has not slowed down.

Petit even expressed surprise that the striker didn’t move to England earlier in his career, suggesting the Premier League would suit him perfectly.

With Chelsea still rebuilding their squad, Osimhen is now seen as a strong option who could deliver instant impact if signed.
