A woman has reportedly been left heartbroken after her husband refused to include her in an international travel application following a long-running disagreement over changing her surname after marriage.
The story was shared by a lady on social media, who claimed the incident involved a couple from her church.
According to her narration, the wife allegedly refused for two years to adopt her husband’s surname or process a new international passport bearing his family name, despite several requests from him.
“The man kept begging her to process a new international passport with his name, but she refused and insisted on continuing to use her father’s name,” the narrator explained.
She added that after repeatedly trying to convince his wife, the husband eventually stopped bringing up the issue and moved on quietly.
However, things reportedly took a dramatic turn when the man got an international opportunity through his workplace and was given the option to travel alongside his spouse.
“Eventually, the man got tired and stopped talking about it. But when an international opportunity came up at his workplace and he was allowed to travel with his wife, Madam suddenly started begging to change the surname quickly,” she added.
According to the post, the husband declined to include her in the application process, insisting he was no longer interested in discussing the matter.
“The man’s response now is, ‘I don’t care again. I won’t include you in my application.’ Now the woman has been crying and asking Pastor to help beg him,” the lady revealed.
