A young woman has stirred reactions online after sharing her perspective on what she calls being a “Gen Z wife” and how she approaches marriage differently from traditional expectations.

In a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), she explained that she and her husband share household responsibilities in a way that suits their lifestyle, rather than following fixed gender roles.

According to her, she does not do all the chores traditionally expected of a wife.

“I don’t wash my husband’s clothes. My husband washes his clothes and mine together,” she said.

She added that she does not feel pressured to meet society’s idea of a “perfect wife,” stressing that marriage has not changed her identity or personal style.

The lady also revealed that cooking is not a daily obligation in their home. Instead, she and her husband alternate responsibilities or choose alternatives such as eating out when they are both tired.

“I’m not trying to look married. I dress to be comfortable, alive and sexy. I just got married, I’m not losing my style. I don’t cook every day. If I’m tired, we rest or eat out,” she added.

Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online. While some social media users praised her for promoting shared responsibility and flexibility in marriage, others argued that she is neglecting traditional marital roles and expectations.

The debate has once again highlighted ongoing conversations around modern relationships and how younger couples are redefining marriage dynamics.
