Content creator and influencer Davrel has sparked conversations online after revealing an alleged act of generosity from Afrobeats superstar Davido.
According to Davrel, the award-winning singer reached out to him after noticing the intense criticism and backlash he was facing on social media. In what many fans are describing as a remarkable gesture, Davrel claimed that Davido offered to cheer him up in an unexpected way.
Speaking in a recent video, Davrel alleged that Davido instructed him to visit Sarkin Mota, a well-known luxury car dealership, and choose any expensive vehicle of his choice.
He further claimed that the singer asked him to call once he arrived at the dealership.
“Davido saw people dragging me on Twitter and told me to head to Sarkin Mota, pick any expensive car I want. When I reach there, I should call him,” Davrel said.
The revelation has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with many praising Davido for his generosity, while others questioned the authenticity of the claim.
Davido has built a reputation over the years for supporting friends, fans, and associates, often making headlines for his charitable gestures and surprise gifts.
Mixed Reactions Trail Davrel’s Claim
Reacting to the story, some social media users commended Davido, popularly known as OBO, for his kindness.
One user, @kingMasy, wrote:
“Person weh no like OBO are also part of the problem Nigeria dey face. Tinubu, 30BG haters, bandits, kidnappers — nothing you fit tell me, una just be winch.”
However, others expressed skepticism, suggesting the story could be linked to a promotional campaign.
@DannyKasm92w commented:
“This thing na publicity stunt for Sarkin Mota. Trust me, the car dealer has nothing to do with Davido. Na Davrel be the middle man wey link dem up.”
Another user, @tshola40, advised Davrel to be practical if the offer was genuine:
“He asked you to pick any expensive car there and you no use your head. You go pick car wey you no fit maintain. If na me, I go negotiate with Sarkin Mota to allow me pick a smaller car and refund the remaining money.”
As discussions continue online, neither Davido nor Sarkin Mota has publicly confirmed the claim at the time of writing.
