Reports have emerged online claiming that Denisi, popularly known as Ego222 and a close friend of Nigerian singer Davido, has passed away.
The news was first shared by Joel Heugh Booysen through a series of emotional posts on Instagram, where he reflected on their memories together.
Details of Denisi’s passing
While confirming the sad development, Joel expressed shock and grief over the loss. However, the exact circumstances surrounding Denisi’s death have not been officially confirmed, and Davido has yet to publicly address the reports.
In one of his posts, Joel wrote:
“You all moved countries to be with me in Southy. My surest guy. I just sorted Southy for us. You made many brothers in this short while in Southy. Cape Town is crying. Brother wake up abeg.”
Cutie Juls speaks on the incident
Meanwhile, popular entertainment gossip blogger Cutie Juls has also reacted to the reports surrounding Ego222’s alleged passing.
According to the blogger, Denisi reportedly died after suffering a cardiac arrest.
“Ego has reportedly passed away a few hours ago. May his soul rest in peace. He apparently died as a result of cardiac issues. He collapsed and was pronounced dead at the hospital,” the post read.
Davido’s past loss
The reported incident has reminded many fans of the painful loss Davido experienced in 2021 when his close friend and associate, Obama DMW, passed away.
Obama DMW died on June 29, 2021, after reportedly suffering heart failure. He was a music executive and the founder of Obama Music Worldwide, an affiliate label connected to Davido Music Worldwide.
According to reports at the time, Obama DMW had been experiencing breathing difficulties and drove himself to Ever Care Hospital in Lekki, where he was admitted but sadly passed away a few hours later.
